The Most Vicious Enemy Of Dreams

By Evan Sanders

"The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt." Sylvia Plath

When we begin to doubt ourselves, our complete world starts to fall apart. That's a pretty bold statement, but if we actually dive into the after-effects of what happens when doubt crawls into our lives, it actually does happen. We can even take it a stage further with regard to chasing dreams. Since the playing field is even more competitive, and doubt comes into our minds, that's when it actually does trash everything or seems to put a total stop to everything we've ever wanted in this life.

You see, dreams demand everything from you. They demand your total attention, work ethos, keenness, integrity, and willingness to sacrifice a significant deal to achieve them. But when you start doubting your dream and what you're doing in life, you aren't giving it your all.

When you listen to someone talking of a dream, there's this sense you get from them that they know something is going to happen in spite of great amounts of doubt surrounding the whole thing. There's an innate sense of belief that roots itself so deeply in that person that they can't even imagine to be on the losing end of the stick. That really is true deep faith.

But when you hear someone who is talking about their passions, and you get the sense that they're slightly on edge about it all, you can be pretty sure that they'll never achieve what they set out to do. It's not that you are rooting against them, but it's that you know dreams take everything and giving it less than that, well, it just won't work out at all. So pour yourself into what you love and let doubt vanish from your mind. Others may say it's not practicable but the impossible has been achieved many many times throughout history.

Give it a try. Anything could happen.
